Reflections
A national PTA recognition and achievement program. Students respond creatively (with their own literature, musical composition, photography and fine art) to a theme determined by the national PTA. All participants are recognized in an awards ceremony. Some entries proceed to the next level of competition.

National Spelling Bee
First time at Colin Powell. Please keep an eye out for an article in the Puma Post and info going home in the Tuesday folders.
 
Chess Club
Back by popular demand again this year. Volunteers are setting up meeting times for the children to again learn to play chess. An instructor from the U.S. Chess Center in Washington will be coming again this year. Again, keep an eye out for an article in the Puma Post and for an info flyer coming home in the Tuesday Folders.

Cultural Arts
The PTA pays for performing artists and curriculum-based cultural assemblies for the students 2-3 times a year. This is also coordinated thru the teachers and administration.
